What is a TCG Token?

A TCG token is a helper card used during trading card game play to represent creatures, objects, or effects created by another card. Tokens are not usually part of your main deck. They are placed on the table when a card effect creates them and removed when that token leaves play.

A custom TCG token is a handmade card used during trading card game play to represent a creature, object, counter, or game effect created by another card.

Each of my custom tokens is an original hand-drawn piece of art. I sketch directly onto a blank trading-card-sized token using permanent black or white ink. Some tokens are left as clean black-and-white ink drawings, while others are finished with marker color layered over the drawing. The artwork is created by hand, so every token has its own character and small natural variations.

The blank tokens I use are printed on sturdy 14-point coated blank-face card stock.

How much does one cost?

I charge on average between $25 to $50 per token.

  • Token Design: What character, creature, or design would you like on your token?
  • Marker Style: Do you prefer black and white or color marker artwork?
  • Stats: What stats or information should be displayed on the token? (e.g., power/toughness, abilities, name, etc.)
  • TCG Game: Which trading card game is this token for? (MTG, Flesh and Blood, Sorcery the Contested Realm, or other)

The more details you provide, the better we can match your vision!

I also create original token artwork for professionally printed token runs of 50, 100, or more. These are great for game stores, events, tournaments, giveaways, deck accessories, or anyone who wants their own unique tokens.
